From the Bible, where Adam and Eve cover themselves with Fig leaves, to ancient Greece, a piece of history that is still relevant to this day. High in Potassium, fibre and a source of vitamin K, calcium, magnesium, copper and manganese. Figs have numerous edible seeds inside the fruit that are generally hollow unless pollinated. It’s the pollinated seeds that give the dried figs their characteristic nutty taste.

Where to use
Dried figs can be eaten as a snack or in a recipe, simmered for several minutes in water or fruit juice to make them plumper and juicier. Use as a topping on ice cream, yoghurt or dessert.
